Assegai Ridgebacks is a small hobby kennel, breeding purebred AKC Rhodesian Ridgebacks since 1987. Our dogs are from both American & imported stock and are bred for true Ridgeback temperament, health, beauty and intelligence. Our dogs are first & foremost housedogs & companions, therefore they must have "liveable" temperaments. The dogs are shown at AKC shows & those who will, are lure coursed at AKC trials.  I am also a Judge for the HRA (Hunting Ridgeback Association) and am striving to retain the hunting instinct in my dogs.I am an experienced, responsible breeder, a member of  The Rhodesian Ridgeback Club of the United States (National Breed Club), The South African Rhodesian Ridgeback Club, The Kennel Union of South Africa, The HRA and my local Kennel Club The Mid-Hudson Kennel Association. I follow the RRCUS Code of Ethics,  & genetic testing is done on all breeding stock. Pet puppies are sold only on Limited Registration spay/neuter contracts.
