For hundreds of years the Caucasian Ovcharka (Mountain Dog) has functioned as a guarding dog, herding dog, and historically as a fighting dog. The Caucasian Ovcharka is indigenous to the mountain regions of the Georgian, Armenian and Azerbaijani Union Republics.
