Wirehaired Vizsla

The idea of a Wirehaired Vizsla came mainly from hunters and falconers in Hungary beginning in the 1930s. Their goal was to create a breed with outstanding traits of the Hungarian vizsla and of the same color, but with a somewhat heavier and sturdier build and a thick wiry coat to be more resistant to extreme winter weather and rough field conditions.
